Income Tax Return Filing in Lahore & Across Pakistan

An income tax return is the annual declaration of your income, tax deducted and tax paid that you file with the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) on its IRIS portal. Pakistan's tax year runs from 1 July to 30 June. Individuals normally file by 30 September, and companies with a June year-end by 31 December. FAQs

Income Tax Return Filing: frequently asked questions

What is the last date to file an income tax return in Pakistan?

For individuals and AOPs the normal due date is 30 September following the end of the tax year on 30 June. Companies with a June year-end file by 31 December. The FBR sometimes extends these dates, so always confirm the current deadline.

Can I file my tax return myself on IRIS?

Yes, IRIS is open to everyone, but mistakes in income heads, tax credits or the wealth statement can trigger FBR notices. A tax consultant makes sure the return is complete and consistent with your previous years.

Can I still file if I missed the deadline?

Yes. A late return can still be filed, but penalties may apply and inclusion in the Active Taxpayer List can require a surcharge. File as soon as possible to limit the cost.
